Professor Maria Street graduated in medicine at the University of Parma in 1992, qualified then as a paediatrcian and earned a PhD in Pediatric Gastro-Endocrinology. She worked as research fellow in 1994, 1997, 1998,1999 in London, St Bart’s Hospital, Division of Paediatric Endocrinology and Growth Factor Laboratory. She worked in the Department of Paediatrics in Parma until 2014 when she became head of the Division of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology and director of the Research Laboratory at the Research Institute and Teaching Hospital in Reggio Emilia. She moved back to the University of Parma in December 2021 and is currently associate professor and head of Paediatric Endocrinology. Prof Street has an active role in the Italian Societies for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (ISPED), for Paediatrics (ISP), and Research in Paediatrics, in ESPE as a former Research unit convenor and currently as member of the Clinical Practice Committee and coordinator of the EDC Interest Group.
